With Bayern Munich, he took advantage of a golden generation to win 3 Champions Leagues, and his moment of glory came in 1974, when he scored the equalizer in the Champions League final in the 120th minute. A goal that would end with a 1-1 score. The score caused the match to be replayed, in the second match it was a crushing 4-0 victory for Bayern Munich.
Beckenbauer's loyal teammate
Schwarzenbeck was a very solid defender, a stopper whose goal was to perfectly fill the spaces left by Franz Beckenbauer when he went forward. Very good defensively, he impressed with his physical qualities and especially his ability to easily tackle opponents, whether standing or sliding.
Often in the shadow of Beckenbauer, Maier, Breitner, Hoeness or Gerd Müller, he was far from an average player. With him, Bayern Munich will become very solid defensively, and he forms with Beckenbauer one of the best defensive duos in history whether with Bayern or the German national team.
German domination
With his 3 Champions Leagues won in 1974, 1975 and 1976, he was one of the pillars of one of the best teams in the history of football. With him and his exceptional teammates, Bayern Munich will become one of the best clubs of all time and one of the most influential in the world.
Introduced into the German national team as a right-back during a West Germany - Albania match in 1971, he will subsequently establish himself in the axis of the German team, being an undisputed starter between 1971 and 1976. A golden period for German football.
During the Euro 1972 that he won, he will deliver an assist against the USSR during an easy 3-0 victory for West Germany. At the 1974 World Cup, he plays almost every minute of the competition and shows great solidity, he then becomes World Champion and completes a crazy list of achievements.
After Euro 1976, he became a luxury substitute and would play his last match for his country in February 1978 against England, a 2-1 victory. In total, he would have played 44 matches for his country and would become one of its greatest legends. At club level, he ended his rich career in 1981, when he was only 33 years old.
