Tulio Humberto Pereira Costa

Born June 2, 1969 in Goiânia (BRE)

Brazilian, Striker, 1m72

Nickname: Maravilha

Failed experience in Europe but very good return to Brazil

Túlio Maravilha was born on June 2, 1969 in Goiânia, Brazil. He began his football career in 1988 under the jersey of the Goias club, his hometown club. In 4 seasons for his first club, he quickly became the best player in the squad and confirmed his talent. The player with a reputation as a comedian is in fact a formidable finisher and an outstanding fox in the box. His sense of goal is formidable for his opponents.

Another highlight of his career that will make him quite famous without really giving him all the notoriety he deserved, the fact that he played for 32 clubs in the space of 24 years. A long career rich in goals and trophies, but especially in travel. He could have joined Paris Saint-Germain at one point in his career, having worn the club's jersey during a trial in a friendly match, but his disappointing performance did not convince the club to sign him.

He finally signed with FC Sion, but the experience was a failure and it was finally at Botafogo, in Brazil, that he found his football again. In his new club, he became one of the best Brazilian strikers of his generation.

A serial scorer with a disappointing career

He was also a Brazilian international between 1990 and 1995, scoring 13 goals and providing 2 assists in 15 matches. Really impressive statistics but which would not allow him to remain a Brazilian international with the arrival of Ronaldo, Bebeto and many others...

Ultimately, the player made the wrong career choices, going from club to club without ever being able to show the full extent of his talent at the highest level. The player who claims to have scored more than 1000 goals, however, does not have the proof of his words. In the end, his career took a turn at the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s, when he chained small clubs, and goals.

He will have played until the age of 44 and will have scored a total of more than 500 official goals, enough to make him enter the very closed circle of players with more than 500 goals. However, his career leaves a bitter taste of knowing what he could have become with the right career choices.
